1980s. Applied imagination was put to work for property developers in their launches of Goodrich Park, Westvale, Simon Gardens, Hillview House, Hwa Hong Building, Selegie Centre, etc. Engaged in below-the-line promos for Bristol Myers and Wellcome pharmaceuticals, and created ads for Helena Rubinstein and Sola Optical. On the packaging front we worked on Haze, Mr. Brasso, Harpic and Dettol household products, Ovaltine beverages and Clairol haircare.

1990s. Revamped packaging for Accord Marketing’s NatureLife range, Bayer pharmaceuticals and Brand’s Essence of Chicken export packs. Developed package design for Ovaltine 3-in-1 products for the region and Ovaltine Minuman Susu for Indonesia.

Gestation period. Principal designer Tan Choon Hong art directed at Ace Advertising and Cathay Advertising (since morphed into Bates), working by day, distance learning by night, with a little moonlighting on the side. Exposure included Malayan Airways, Garuda Indonesian Airways, Van Houten Chocolate, General Milk, Esso Gas and Singapore Tourist Promotion Board.

Launch Day 1st April 1972. A creative hotshop was born, and soon garnered accounts in the retail, travel and restaurant trades including Metro Department Stores, American Express Travel, Swissair and Cathay Restaurant.
